HomeWeave LLC ("HomeWeave," "we," "us," or "our") operates the HomeWeave application and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. Please read it carefully.
Our guiding principle is simple: we collect only what we need to provide you with a great experience, and we never sell your personal information to third parties.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
When you create an account or use the Service, you may provide us with:
- Account information — name, email address, phone number, and password.
- Profile and family information — details about family members and household members you add to your account.
- Property information — home addresses, property details, and related records.
- Photos and media — images and files you upload to the Service.
- Payment information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, your billing details are collected and processed by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.
- Communications — messages, feedback, or support requests you send to us.
Information Collected Automatically
When you access the Service, we automatically collect limited technical information, including:
- Log data — IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and access timestamps.
- Cookies — we use essential cookies only (session management and security tokens such as CSRF protection). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not use third-party analytics or tracking services. We do not collect data from third-party sources. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
- Manage your account, process transactions, and send related notices (e.g., confirmations, invoices, and password resets).
- Enable family and household coordination features, including schedules, tasks, and property management.
- Respond to your comments, questions, and support requests.
- Send you optional product updates and service announcements (you can opt out at any time).
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Your Information
We never sell your personal information. We share data only with the following categories of service providers, and only to the extent necessary to operate the Service:
- Payment processing — Stripe processes your payment information when you subscribe to a paid plan. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of your data.
- Email delivery — Mailgun delivers transactional emails (password resets, invitations, notifications) and occasional product updates on our behalf.
- Cloud infrastructure — DigitalOcean hosts our servers and databases. Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides file storage for uploaded photos and media.
We may also disclose your information if required to do so by law, or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to comply with legal process, protect our rights or safety, or investigate fraud.
4. Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously. We implement industry-standard safeguards, including:
- All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS).
- Passwords are hashed using strong, one-way cryptographic algorithms and are never stored in plaintext.
- Database access is restricted and monitored.
- We conduct regular security reviews of our application code.
While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to promptly addressing any security issues that arise.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. If you delete your account:
- Your personal data (profile, family information, property details, photos, and media) will be permanently deleted.
- Billing and transaction records will be retained for up to seven (7) years as required for tax, accounting, and legal compliance purposes.
- Server logs containing your IP address are automatically purged on a rolling basis.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Regardless of where you live, we provide every HomeWeave user with the following rights:
- Access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — you can update or correct inaccurate information in your account settings or by contacting us.
- Deletion — you can request deletion of your account and personal data, subject to the retention practices described above.
- Opt out of marketing emails — every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You may also manage your email preferences in your account settings. Transactional emails (password resets, security alerts, billing notices) are not optional.
- Data portability — you can request an export of your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format.

7. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with additional rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to Know — you may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
- Right to Delete — you may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions (such as retaining billing records for legal compliance).
- Right to Non-Discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights. You will not receive a different level of service or pricing.
- Sale of Personal Information — we do not sell your personal information and have not sold personal information in the preceding 12 months.

8. Cookies
HomeWeave uses only essential cookies that are strictly necessary for the Service to function. These include:

We do not use any advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking cookies. Because we use only essential cookies, no cookie consent banner is required.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not operated by us. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.
